Pool Rules
J Will's Pick 'Em Pool Rules
Pick seven winners each week, enter the tiebreaker, and stay in the yearlong race.
Weekly play
Each player selects exactly seven NFL teams to win outright. There is no point spread. A player must get all seven games correct to be eligible for the weekly prize.
If no one gets all seven games correct, then the pot rolls over to the next week. If anyone new wants to play in the carryover week, or if a player wants to play a second play or more, notify the commissioner via email so the new entrant can be added to the pool. The new entrant will have to pay the entry fee for the week or weeks that were missed for the carryover play.
In Week 18, there is no Monday night game, so the tiebreaker will be the Sunday night game, meaning the last game of the season. If no one gets all seven correct in Week 18, then the logic falls to six correct, five correct, and so on.
Tiebreaker
The tiebreaker is the predicted total score of the final designated game of the week. Closest total wins. Exact ties split the prize.
Locking
Each selected game locks at kickoff. Players may edit unlocked picks before kickoff.
Finances
Payments and payout split
Payments are to be sent to the Commissioner, John Williams, via PayPal or Zelle. Weekly winners will be announced on the day after the last game of the week and payment will be distributed that day to the winner or winners in the manner in which those individuals provided their payment.
The weekly winning payout is 85% of the funds received for a given week. Additionally, 5% of the weekly monies will be held back for a year-end prize that incentivizes playing each week and performing well, even without a weekly win. The pool will have a 10% administrative fee.
60% to first place, 25% to second place, 10% to third place, and 5% to fourth place. Ties will be distributed equally.
